XLIF®: Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion
XLIF® (Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion) is a minimally invasive spine fusion procedure performed through the patient’s side. This approach avoids cutting through the back muscles, often resulting in less pain and a faster recovery compared to traditional methods.
During the procedure, the damaged disc is removed and replaced with a cage and bone graft between the vertebrae to restore alignment and promote fusion. XLIF® is commonly used to treat conditions that cause nerve compression, spinal instability, or deformity.
