Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy (TTO)
The tibial tubercle is the bump on the front of the shinbone where the patellar tendon attaches. In a TTO, this area is surgically repositioned to improve kneecap alignment and reduce pain.
This procedure is commonly used for recurrent kneecap dislocations, patellar instability, or cartilage damage behind the kneecap. By restoring alignment, it improves stability and function in the knee.
