Surgery for Patellar Tracking Disorder (Lateral Release and Medial Imbrication Technique)
Patellar tracking disorder occurs when the kneecap moves out of alignment, often shifting too far to the outside of the knee. This can cause pain, swelling, and instability.
Surgical correction involves releasing tight structures on the outer side of the kneecap (lateral release) and tightening tissues on the inner side (medial imbrication). Together, these steps restore proper alignment and stability to the knee.
