Laminectomy (Lumbar)
A lumbar laminectomy removes part of the vertebra called the lamina to create more space for the spinal cord and nerves. It is often recommended for spinal stenosis, where narrowing of the canal causes pain, numbness, or weakness.
By relieving this pressure, the procedure can reduce symptoms and improve mobility. In some cases, it may be combined with a spinal fusion to provide long-term stability.
