Jones Fracture Fixation (Intramedullary Screw)
A Jones fracture is a break at the base of the fifth metatarsal, the long bone on the outside of the foot. This type of fracture often occurs with twisting injuries and can be slow to heal without proper treatment.
Surgical fixation uses an intramedullary screw placed inside the bone to hold it securely while it heals. This technique improves stability, reduces healing time, and lowers the risk of the fracture not healing properly.
