Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint Separation Repair
An AC joint separation occurs when the ligaments connecting the collarbone to the shoulder blade are stretched or torn, often from a fall or direct impact. This injury can cause pain, swelling, and visible deformity at the top of the shoulder.
Surgical repair involves realigning the collarbone and stabilizing it with sutures, screws, or specialized devices until the ligaments heal. This restores proper joint position, reduces pain, and helps regain full shoulder function.
