Jay H. Patel, MD, FAAOS
Dr. Jay H. Patel is a Midwest native. He grew up in Central Illinois and then attended Saint Louis University for the majority of his education. There, he completed his undergraduate studies, medical school, and orthopedic residency. He completed his fellowship at the University of Minnesota/TRIA Sports Medicine and Shoulder Fellowship.

Dr. Patel is an ABOS Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who treats injured workers and athletes with issues of the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles. As a sports physician, non-operative treatment has a large role in his practice. These modalities regularly include activity modification, physical therapy and a variety of injections. When necessary, diagnostic tests may be recommended for defining root causes of pain as well as surgical planning. Dr. Patel has worked with numerous athletes, workers and weekend warriors. He has the training, experience and expertise to recommend and perform the best indicated procedure necessary for any particular patient. His goal for all his patients, whether surgical or non-surgical, is to restore function and decrease pain.

Dr. Patel remains active in numerous societies including the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has a passion for arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction and cartilage restoration. He has completed numerous research projects and given multiple regional and national presentations on his work.
